Voltaggio Brothers

How have I not talked about the Voltaggio Brothers yet?! Ever since the the first episode of Top Chef Season Six, I have been celebrity crushing on the good looking chef brothers so this post comes a little late.

I've never had celebrity crushes before. I mean sure, I think Brad Pitt and Jude Law are quite hot, but I definitely do not swoon over them. But give me Michael and Bryan Voltaggio and I will go weak at the knees.

I love a man who can cook really well and to have two of them and such easy on eyes, that's like jackpot. That's a blessed family. My heart rate went up a little just from gathering their pictures from their website to put on here. I think Bryan is better looking but Michael is a bit more creative and talented. Ahhh, they both light my fire.

Bryan Voltaggio: 32, Chef and Partner of VOLT (Frederick, Maryland).

Michael Voltaggio: 30, Chef de Cuisine, Langham Huntington Hotel & Spa (Pasadena, CA) and Top Chef Season 6 Winner.

Are you a fan yet? Check out their website by clicking here. And you can follow Bryan's twitter here and Michael's here.

SATC 2 Spoiler

Already confirmed to make an appearance on the new Sex and the City movie sequel was Liza Minnelli (she'll sing a song at the wedding of Stanford and Anthony). And now OK mag confirms the movie to have two new celebrity appearances, Penélope Cruz (appearing as herself) and Miley Cyrus (not sure what her role will be, but perhaps a younger Carrie as there were rumors she wanted to play that part for a SATC prequel).

I can't wait!

Bayside Class of 1993 Reunites!

This upcoming cover of People magazine nearly made my heart skip a beat. I am on the same boat as Jimmy Fallon in wishing hard for a Saved by the Bell reunion. This might be as close as we get, but I'll take it! This issue will be available tomorrow, July 31. Pick up a copy to see what the gang has been up to.

The only person missing from the group was Dustin Diamond, better known as Screech Powers. But after he put out his own porn, I'm really not a fan of his. And he's not even cute.

Zack Attack!

I was a HUGE Saved by the Bell fan growing up and it is by far still one of my favorite shows of all time. I remember running home from the bus stop to catch the latest episode. I was in love with Zack and I thought Kelly was so pretty. I hated the New Class thing they tried to do back in 1993. That show was terrible. You can't just replace the cast and expect it to have the same cult following.

Last night, Zack Morris (as played by Mark-Paul Gosselaar) made an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Seeing him dressed as Zack and his giant cell phone, ahh the memories. I hope they do do a reunion show. That would be amazing! My favorite episode of all time was "Rockumentary" so I was especially excited that he sang a part "Friends Forever," even though it didn't sound as good without the actual Zack Attack band. ;) That episode made me so happy.

I've Became a Big Ryan Reynolds' Fan

I always thought he was good looking, but he totally won me over as Deadpool/Wade Wilson in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie. Well, now there has been an official confirmation that there will a Deadpool movie coming out, with Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as the assassin.

The film is said to be a complete exploration of this unique character, his origins and his emergence as the Merc with the Mouth. According to Wikipedia, Deadpool got this nickname due to his wisecracks, black comedy, and satirical pop-culture reference. The Wikipedia content on Deadpool is actually really interesting and detailed.

Fans have said that the best supporting role in the Wolverine movie was Reynolds character, so I'm sure it was no surprise that this spinoff was in the making. But apparently, it has been in the making for the past five years. I'm very excited because he was my favorite character in the movie, except for Wolverine of course. And Ryan is major eye candy, I'll take a piece of that. Hottttt!

Paula Deen Cancelled

M told me about this a few weeks ago and then sent me this photo this morning. Not like I was going to go, but I did think it was pretty strange Paula Deen was going to be at Costco (Tempe Marketplace location) signing her book. Why not Border's or something more book related? I'm sure her fans are going to be sad anyway.

Also, she looks so creepy in that photo. We know she's old(er), you don't have to airbrush all the wrinkles out! It looks so unnatural.

"Wolf Pack" Eye Candy

I'm not a Twilight fan. I saw the movie on Thanksgiving because my sister raved about how much she was in loved with Edward Cullen. I did think he was pretty hot in the movie, but I don't dream about him being my boyfriend as some other girls do. But I did read the Wikipedia summaries of the book series so I kind of have an idea of what's to come in the next few movies, and that's the werewolves.

USA Today had the first look at the new group of guys who are going to be playing the wolfwolves and they are all Native Americans, as in the book. They look young to me, but I guess they are suppose to be in high school. Nonetheless, they are still very hot. I like the one on the far left.

First Love

When I listen to music, I am a little OCD about it. I will listen to a song on repeat all day long (that would be 9 straight hours at the office) and then still want to hear it when I'm at home. This can go on for weeks or months.

My current obsession is a REALLY old song by Utada Hikaru, a ridiculously famous pop star in Japan. The song is called "First Love," it was released 10 years ago and I still love it. I don't know Japanese so I don't really know what she is saying, but you get the idea. There is an English version, but I like the Japanese version so much more. She tried to make it in the US but I think her album tanked. According to online articles, she is going to be releasing another US album this year.

Top Chef Master!!!

I am a HUGE fan of Top Chef on Bravo so when I first heard about Top Chef Master months ago (I actually found it on accident reading the Wikipedia page of Kelly Choi, random I know) I was very excited. Then I did not hear anything about it...until now.

On the LATimes Show Tracker page on Wednesday, they provided some great details about the new show featuring "world-renowned chefs" hosted by Kelly Choi (yay for more good looking Asian people on television). New York Magazine food critic Gael Greene, Saveur magazine Editor in Chief James Oseland and British food critic Jay Rayner will be the judges.

The show will premiere on June 10 at 10pm. Guest judges slated to appear are Neil Patrick Harris, Zooey Deschanel, "Lost" writers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof, "Flipping Out's" Jeff Lewis, all of the previous "Top Chef" winners, and of course, Tom Colicchio, Padma Lakshmi and Gail Simmons.

There are a lot of competitors on this show so the producers have changed some things from the original series.Bravo's press release states:

In each episode, money will be at stake for the chefs, with the winners of eliminations being awarded cash donations for their charities. The first six episodes will consist of four chefs competing against each other to name one winner. The six winners of each episode will then meet up for the final four weeks when one person will get eliminated each episode until the finale where one winner is crowned Top Chef Master. The winning chef will receive $100,000 for the charity of his or her choice.

Some competing chefs that I am excited to see: Rick Bayless, Michael Chiarello, Wylie Dufresne, Elizabeth Falkner, Hubert Keller, Christopher Lee, Anita Lo, Art Smith, and Roy Yamaguchi. I was actually hoping David Chang would be competing, but maybe he needs more years to be considered "world renowned."

It's going to be interesting to see these chefs compete since most of them have appeared as guest judges on the show before. I can't wait!

Steve Jobs Facebook Page

T sent me Bill Gates FB page a few minutes ago from PC World and it was pretty funny, but I am not sure how to post it here. I liked Steve Jobs too, of course, being an Apple fan and all.

At the end of March, PC World made up some really funny facebook pages for some very important people. So if you get a few moments, check it out here: http://www.pcworld.com/article/162166/facebook_pages_wed_like_to_see.html

Fan: Nobu Matsuhisa

I am a fan of many chefs for different reasons, and often it is not just their food. I became a fan of Nobu Matsuhisa initially because of his celebrity following. Everyone wanted to eat at Nobu and those who did raved about it. Even my friend J says its one the best sushi she's ever had.

After reading this recent article in CNNMoney.com, I have so much more respect for him. Chef Matsuhisa knew he wanted to be a sushi chef and always followed that path. He faced such trial and tribulations to get to where he is now. I like that throughout the interview, he always went back to how he cares more about the food and his customers than how much money he was making. That is something to be admired.

Pharrell likes McDonald's

Pharrell is too funny. He really wanted his Mickey D's.

Fan: Grant Achatz

I'm a big fan of Chef Grant Achatz. I follow him on twitter, read his "Back of the House" articles from the food section of The Atlantic, etc. He is so creative, talented, and very accomplished. Even with all the awards and recognition, he still seems like a down to earth guy whose always about his craft and I love that. He is also a good writer.

In his most recent article, he describes his dining experience at a restaurant unnamed. The restaurant seems bizarre, but definitely interesting. I like the way he writes because he is very descriptive and how he relates things back to his restaurant, Alinea. Check out some of his past articles too if you get a chance.
